  2. Et ecce terraemotus factus est magnus: Angelus enim Domini descendit de caelo, alleluia. [There was a great earthquake for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, alleluia.]
  3. Erat autem aspectus eius sicut fulgur, vestimenta autem eius sicut nix, alleluia, alleluia. [And his countenance was as lightning and his raiment as snow, alleluia, alleluia.]
  4. Prae timore autem eius exterriti sunt custodes, et facti sunt velut mortui,alleluia. [And for fear of him the guards were struck with terror and became as dead men, alleluia.]

Introit: Protexisti me, Deus, a conventu malignantium, alleluia: a multitudine operantium iniquitatem, alleluia, alleluia. PS Exaudi Deus, orationem meam cum deprecor, a timore inimici eripe animam meam. Collect: O God, who taught blessed Hermenegild, your martyr, to choose a heavenly kingdom rather than an earthly one, grant us, we beseech You, to despise fleeting things, after his example, and to pursue those that are eternal.  Through our Lord. [indulgence]
